The Oral and Pictorial Records Programme or OPReP as it is more popularly referred to, was established in 1981 at the Main Library on the St. Augustine Campus of The University of the West Indies.
The main objective of OPReP is to develop and maintain an archive of oral and photographic records in order to facilitate cultural and historical research into the past of Trinidad and Tobago.
The OPReP Newsletter is the official organ of the Programme. Published twice a year in June and December, the newsletter carries a variety of informative and interesting articles, as well as transcripts of material collected. It is an indispensable publication for those interested in learning more about our rich and varied past through the words and pictures of people who experienced it.
Published in the past only in printed format, the newsletter is now available electronically via the library's website. To view the newletter, the reader must have Acrobat Reader installed on their computers. This software is freely available from Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
